Friends
Friends, both young
and old, old and new,
enrich our lives .
. my life . . in so many ways.
We share things as
frivolous as jokes and gossip,
as profound as our
most cherished thoughts and dreams,
our trust.
For me, friendship
does not blossom easily,
yet when it does, it
is almost instantaneous,
borne of a handshake,
or a smile,
an intuitive connection
that goes beyond words,
beyond knowing.
On a Trip to Zurich
I met Melissa, the
lovely girl in the photo above,
at my nephew's wedding
in Germany.
She was the friend
of the equally lovely Jennifer, sister of the bride.
Together with the groom's
brother, Nate,
(also my nephew, if
you're following the math)
and his great friend
Greg,
the five of us spent
a week together,
sightseeing and eating
ice cream during the days,
exploring the ruins
of old castles by night,
and becoming friends.
