Kiawah Island, SC

I'm not a great lover of heat and humidity, so South Carolina in August wasn't my idea of the ideal vacation.

But Kiawah Island is a wondrous place, with fine accomodations, world class golf & tennis, free-range alligators,

and best of all, great stretches of magnificent beach with the most dense and organic sand I've ever played in.

For the first time ever, I was able to sculpt an upright face, and by the time I was done

I could hardly believe the amazing undercuts this sand sustained.
